Deadline for a Free Upgrade to Windows 10 is Coming Soon
The deadline to upgrade to Windows 10 for free is only 5 weeks away on July 29, 2016.
Windows 10 is designed to be compatible with the hardware, software, and peripherals you already own. Enabled updates help you stay current on features and security for the supported lifetime of your device.
How to upgrade to Windows 10
Get the upgrade via the “Get Windows 10 app”. This app is already installed on many PCs. Look for the Windows icon on the far right-hand side of your taskbar to see if you have the app. You can also visit a Microsoft Store to get free, in-person upgrade services.
What if I miss the deadline?
Once the deadline has passed the upgrade will be available for purchase for the same price as previous Windows versions, $119.99 for Home and $199.99 for Pro (there is also an option to upgrade from the home addition to a Pro pack for $99)
Bonus: Windows 10 includes a “personal assistant” named Cortana designed much like Siri or Google Now. Cortana will help you find things on your PC, manage your calendar, track packages, find files, chat with you, and tell jokes. The more you use Cortana, the more personalized your experience will be. Use Cortana's Notebook to tell Cortana about your interests, favorite places, and things you want to keep up on. Add more info about yourself in the Notebook to get better, more personalized help from Cortana.
